A&T to Drive AI Innovation, Economic Development in Collaboration with NVIDIA

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University announced it has entered a collaboration with NVIDIA aimed at accelerating North Carolina’s economic growth, enhancing workforce capabilities and fostering innovation across key sectors, helping further position the university as a leader in research and technology.
This collaboration aligns with N.C. A&T’s goal to achieve Carnegie Classification R1 research status, the highest classification of research institutions in the United States. By leveraging NVIDIA’s AI technology and resources, A&T will boost its research capacity in fields critical to economic and human advancement.

A Look Back: Community and Economic Engagement Summit 2024
|
The Division of Strategic Partnerships and Economic Development, alongside the Office of Engagement and Outreach, proudly hosted the fourth annual Community & Economic Engagement Summit during the 98th Homecoming celebration.
This year’s summit, themed “Maximizing Our Momentum: Strategies for Community and Economic Growth,” took place at the N.C. A&T State University Farm Pavilion, bringing together thought leaders and changemakers for a day of impactful dialogue.
Highlights included a keynote address by Geoff Foster ’90 and ’96, founder and CEO of Core Technology Molding Corp., as well as engaging panels and presentations featuring industry experts.
The summit’s impact extended beyond the event, receiving features on the City of Greensboro’s Podcast and television station and in the Triad Business Journal. |

Aggies Leading the Way in Environmental Leadership at the EPA HBCU/MSI Advisory Council Meeting |
On November 20, North Carolina A&T State University proudly stood at the forefront of environmental leadership as Dr. Oliver M. Thomas ’06, associate vice chancellor for external affairs, represented our institution at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s inaugural HBCU/MSI Advisory Council public meeting.
This historic event was made even more meaningful by the presence of distinguished Aggie leaders:
Michael S. Regan ’98, EPA Administrator and proud Aggie alumnus, who continues to lead the charge in environmental stewardship.
Hilda Pinnix-Ragland ’77, trailblazer, chair of the council, member of N.C. A&T’s Board of Trustees, and former BOT chairwoman, presided over the meeting.
Established in 2023, the EPA HBCU/MSI Advisory Council is committed to:
- Diversifying the EPA workforce - Nurturing the next generation of environmental leaders - Equipping HBCUs and Minority Serving Institutions with vital resources to thrive
